Here's another cutie! Delosperma virens 12.5cm pots @ R6.00. At one point, before we'd accessed a correct name, I used to call it after the cutest lady in the nursery! I think she was quite disappointed when we found the scientific name. Almost always in flower.

Coleonema 'Sunset Gold' anpther of those plants one just has to love - perfect for foliage contrasts. Well-grown 15cm pot plants @ R18.10

Gazania Splendens Pink - truly splendiferous in 4kg bags @ R7.60

I don't think anyone could be blamed for not knowing this unusal, tough, constantly flowering plant. Give it a try, its exceptional: feathery foliage and those big, brightest gold blooms! Ursinia paleacea in 4kg bags @ R9.35

NOW FOR THOSE SPECIALS!
.. time to update! A few new things to add, and a few old ones sold out! What a fantastic response we've had!

Shhhh, it's a secret! Diascia Whisper White added to our special for R9.95 in 15cm pots.

Now here are happy little variegated Felicias - 15cm pots down to R7.50!

Ever-popular dwarf Polygala fruticosa 'Southern Shores' - these 15cm pots @ R12.50. Did you know that this plant was discovered by Kirstenbosch horticulturists growing right on the coast? Its also known as 'Petite Butterfly' and 'Storms River'. What a lot of names!

Salvia chamelaeagnea Blue in 4kg bags - they'll be heavenly blue till late in the summer - just bursting into bloom. Get them at R9.50 while you can!

Only a few of these Barleria Purple Prince in 25cm pots - R15.00 only. (Swoons)

This is Hymenolepsis crithmoides, a new introduction. Pleased to meet you Hymie!

Just look at how beautiful it is in 15cm pots and with Patrick (who isn't quite as pretty) when mature. GRAB them for R8.50!

As for Plumbago 'Royal Cape' would you believe that when they first came out, I thought they wouldn't really take off - what a joke! Fact is, they really are much better than the normal species type (as we all know).

The label costs us an arm and a leg, but we won't need surgery to extract the price of  R15.00 per 15cm pot from you! I might start gibbering though: am I CRAZY to set the price so low?

Onwards!

Felicias amoena and bergeriana white:

.. and it really is felicitous when you can snap them up for R7.00 per 15cm pot!

Osteospermum Red Zebra, so named for its petals which develop dark stripes after opening - still flowering away.

Yes, I know it isn't the busiest time of the year, but 15cm pots for R8.50? That does put a new spin on it, doesn't it?

And here's another new introduction: Cineraria 'Silver Star'. It looks almost like the old fashioned 'Dusty Miller', but the golden flowers are an added bonus.

Snaffle them off me for a bare R8.50 per 15cm pot. Oh, and that's my paw in there, but all you get is the plant.

I'd say that Pelargonium 'Colorcade' were going for a song, but to spare myself from hearing your singing, I'll charge you R12.00 per 15cm pot instead.

Oft forgotten among the plethora of gorgeous hybrids, is the ordinary species type: Pelargonium peltatum. Here's a pic (below) to remind you of it:
No Royalties to pay here, so they're down to a ludicrous R7.00 per 15cm pot.

The summer madness strikes again: Blue Scabiosa incisa are just R8.50 per 15cm pot - a massive reduction.

I always used to say that the Restios are so inviting, I want to dive into them. Well, I could have a swim in these big Calopsis paniculata (left) and Thamnochortus insignis (Right)!
They'd be great grow-ons for bigger bags, and would make a nice nursery display too: 4kg bags for R11.50.

Now these Tulbaghia 'Silver Lace' were hard to photograph: Take them from far, and all you see are the flowers, of which there are plenty, take them from near, and you can't get the flowers in frame. Oh well, you get the idea....
4kg bags at R8.30 - remember to eat some flowers to amuse your customers, but not too many or you might get garlic breath!

Now here's an old friend: Hiya Aggie, how's tricks? Still got the blues? Agh, but you do it soooo well!
Agapanthus Nana Blue marked down to R8.30 per 4kg bag.

Dietes grandiflora (left) and bicolor at right. Favorites for good reason! R9.50 and R8.30 respectively.

It is said that Moses was found motherless in the Bullrushes, but there wasn't anyone in this lot:
Typha capensis in 10kg bags for R10.50.

HOW these Cyperus textilis manage to look so cool and fresh in the hot weather I do not know! Then in winter, they look all tropical.
Nice for boggy areas or as a pot plant in water features. 4kg bags are R6.50. Now I'm convinced: the sun really HAS gone to my head!

Onwards before I change my mind:

Here's Juncus kraussii. When we first started growing Juncus, the production supervisors thought it might turn out to be junk. What a debate we had around the meeting table: 'Who will grow this Juncus?'! Then Evelyn agreed to take the plunge, and we haven't looked back - it really is a very pretty ornamental grass!

Gorgeous, full plants in 4kg bags are just R8.00!

I'm hoping that these specials will make you Blush Pink with pleasure - like this Tecoma 'Pink Blush' which is obviously thrilled to be R9.95! Go on, make it yours!

I love the fresh look of compact Carissa haematocarpa - ideal for 'touch me not' plantings! Down to R9.50 for 4kg bags.
Another unusual shrub: Maytenus procumbens - a brilliant choice for harsh, coastal plantings with a growth habit that is similar to Carissa 'Green Carpet' - no thorns though - so it's kiddie safe.

4kg bags are R10.95, and there are wonderful, full 10kg plants for R18.95

There are too many great specials to get all the pics together, but others worthy of note are Kniphofia praecox @ R10.50 and Sutera 'Blizzard' @ R7.50. Check out the 'Cream of the Crop list for even more.

Now for some trees: Great grow-ons here:

Remember how I've been raving about Gonioma kamassi? Well, they deserve the attention. A client was telling me that he uses it as a tree for small gardens or as a foliage 'undergrowth' shrub in deep shade. I just wish the common name was prettier: 'Kamassi' indeed! It should be called - 'Fabulous-glossy-green-scented-flowered-delight'. Alright, maybe something a bit shorter than that, but you get the picture! 4kg bags marked down to R12.00.

Here's Diospyros lycoides ssp guerkii (What a mouthful!)

This fast-growing tree lends itself to clipping very well or, left to itself, it becomes a striking shade tree. Also R12.00 for 4kg bags.

Podocarpus falcatus is really called Afrocarpus falcatus now. I wonder if it will 'stick'? I think everyone knows it as Podocarpus  - still, I suppose botanists also need to make a living.
How's that for a good sized, shapely 4kg specimen? Lots more where that came from, and going for R12.00.  I defy you to get as good a plant for a lower price!

Alright, so they're still a bit short, but aren't these Nuxias lovely? You can have them at R18.95 any time you like, but right now, they're R12.00!

I could weep with pleasure when I see how beautifully Charlotte is growing trees - and this year she's surpassed herself (don't forget to check the 'Top Trees List' on the bulk mail - these are just the 'specials').

Anyway, these 10kg Harpehyllum caffrum (below) are superb - Its almost going to hurt selling them for a mere R30.00. The 4kg's are brilliant too - just R12.50.
Looking good, eh? But these are just the specials: don't forgot to check out the 'Cream of the Crop' section where you'll find many more wonderful things on offer!

Phew! I'm bushed! Or is that 'Treed'?

Till next time!
